With information explosion becoming a
part of our everyday lives, more and more people are becoming more receptive to
added knowledge, apart from what has been given in their text books. In order
to ensure efficient and proper handling of resources and information within a
commercial organization, a new area came up, referred to as knowledge
management. It is significant to understand that this is not a new topic. This
term was coined almost 20 years back. As part of this subject, the knowledge
and information about an organization is holistically managed and organized.
